The Orchestrated Itinerary

I.
The Subterranean Ascent — Merești Caves & Bat Colonies
Our tour starts at 07:00 a.m. with a private hotel pick-up, followed by a scenic 4-hour drive to one of the wildest gorges sectors in Romania. The area is home to the Association for the Protection of Bats, where 17 of the 30 Romanian bat species thrive. We will trek through the reserve to visit the two largest caves, witnessing the incredible echolocation microclimate firsthand. The journey takes us through a dendrological park and lesser-known narcissus glades, where you may spot yellow peonies protected by law. We pause halfway for a curated picnic on the lush green grass before continuing our exploration of the Merești and Horse caves.

II.
Panoramic Ridge Return — The Gorges Chain View
The return journey follows a different, more spectacular route positioned high above the gorges. This vantage point offers an impressive panorama over the entire gorges chain, revealing the true scale of the limestone formations. The trek concludes with a descent through a dense, ancient forest via a slightly abrupt path that reconnects with the valley floor.
